Few people are good talkers, educators or entertainers but Jim Bacon (G3YLA) proved he was one of the rarer people who are all three.
Jim attended at Chequers Lane to give us a talk about 'Tropospheric Propogation' and 'Sporadic Es', a talk which lasted for over two and a half hours and which drew numerous questions from a very appreciative audience. He diversified to answer questions about his work as the 'Managing Director of Weather Quest' and also some of the secrets of weather presenting on TV.
Jim told us about how he is looking into the use of 'Software Defined Radio' at his new home QTH. Perhaps he might find time in the future to join us again to update us on this mode of radio operating?
The evening was a great success and our thanks go to Jim for his time.
