19 Oct 2006 - A TALK BY ROGER COOKE (G3LDI)

Roger Cooke (G3LDI) braved the cooling October weather to travel to KLARC to entertain us with a talk about 'Data Modes' of radio operation. As the chairman of BARTG he proved himself most knowlegeable on all aspects of this fascinating subject, also explaining the use of the 'Satgate'. Roger went on to inform the membership about access to BARTG (which will be subscription free from the new year).

As an interlude Roger gave a virtuoso performance on his Technics keyboard to explain and demonstrate the various sounds that it could produce. Although this had nothing to do with amateur radio the performance was met with enthusiastic appreciation by the members.

The membership of KLARC applaud Roger for the time given by him unstintingly and very generously. Thanks a million Roger..
