8 Mar 2007 - The History of the Port of Lynn 1700-1850

On Thursday 8th March 2007 the members and guests of the club were entertained and educated by our guest speaker Dr Paul Richards BA, PhD. Paul is a published local historian and also ex Lord Mayor of Kings Lynn.

Paul gave a slide show/talk entitled "The History of the Port of Lynn 1700-1850".

The talk was well received by all who attended and it was fascinating to compare the old with the new, to see pictures of the town, and to gain an understanding into where George Vancouver's life fittted into the history of the town. In particular the locals were given a totally new insight into the area in which they live.
