28 Sep 2006 - A TALK BY SEAN MANNING

On the evening of 28th September we were entertained for over two hours by Sean Manning.

Sean joined the RAF in 1987 and went on to fly Tornado GR1 and GR4 in the Reconnaissance role.  He completed 4 tours flying operations over Iraq and his last tour was as an instructor at the Tornado Operational Conversion Unit at RAF Lossiemouth.  He joined Air 2000 Ltd in 2000 and converted to flying the Airbus A321 which he has been doing for the past 6 years.  He now has over 6000 hours flying time.  The talk, utilising a powerpoint show, contained a mixture of the commercial aspects of flying, technical details and also described a typical day of Sean's work.

A very entertaining evening and our thanks go to Sean for his time (also to George-G6AKC for introducing Sean to us).

The photo shows KLARC chairman Derek Franklin-G0MQL (left) enjoying a joke with Sean before his talk.
